United Airways (BD) Ltd. a public limited company by shares was founded early in 2005 by some expatriate Bangladeshi. The company received Air Transport Operating License (ATOL -35) from Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh on same year to operate passenger and cargo services in the international and domestic sectors. The Airline had been operating Schedule passengers’ services since 10th June 2007.

Unfortunately the airline was declared closed on 05 March 2016 by the old management. Since then the airline remained non-operative till now. Finding some anomalies and non-compliances the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission suspended the previous Board of Directors and appointed a new Board of Directors with 8 Independent Directors. Mr. Kazi Wahid ul Alam has been entrusted as the Chairman of the Board. The new Board has taken over the charges on 4th March 2021. Board of Directors in their 6th meeting appointed Mr. ATM Nazrul Islam as its Managing Director (Current Charge).

  The new Board of Directors has prepared plans to revive the airline to uphold the interest of its valued share-holders. They conducted some meetings with BSEC, Civil Aviation Authority, Ministry of Civil Aviation & Tourism, and other stake holders with their plans in order to revive the airline.

Though it is very challenging task but not impossible to resume the airline.
